Despite major advances in the understanding of the mechanism of disease development and in the treatment of PAH, substantial gaps in clinician knowledge remain. Bringing together physicians and scientists who represent multiple disciplines, expertise and a common commitment to PAH management, affords the opportunity to explore areas of mutual interest and collaboration that will narrow these gaps of knowledge in the future.
New guidelines, advanced diagnostic techniques, and a diversity of therapeutic options have fuelled the debate on clinical outcomes and expectations for patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). The Clinical Toolbox Series will provide clinicians a contemporary multi-disciplinary resource focused on pathophysiologic features that inform new PAH treatment paradigms, evidence-based methods for accurate diagnosis, and state-of-the-art therapeutic strategies for optimizing long-term management. Clinical controversies and challenges with a spotlight on recommended (evidence-based, guideline mandated or expert opinion) solutions will be incorporated into each module.
